In 2006, N. E. Ruffneck's had their first college prospect team. These were junior and senior high school players, looking for the opportunity to play college baseball by playing in high profile baseball tournaments around the nation. One player, Ryan Westmoreland, was drafted by the Boston Red Sox. He eventually became one of the top prospects in the Red Sox organization.
