This relatively new industrial facility near MIT in Cambridge, MA is known as the William R. Dickson Cogeneration Plant. The red box amongst a complex of equipment and railings is a mysterious element that evokes a sense of curiosity of its function. An obvious answer could be it's an alarm system of some type. However, it ultimately portrays the importance of the device. Visually, it's a bold feature that strikingly stands out in a sea of whiteness.
