Chamaecyparis Tree Tag
This is the bark and tree tag of Chamaecyparis pisifera 'Plumosa'. It's located at Mount Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge, Ma.. It was built in the 1830's, and is considered the first "Landscape Cemetery" in the country. Nearly all the trees and shrubs are identified with botanical name tags, making it very much like an arboretum. This makes it a great place to study horticulture and plant identifications.
