The ubiquitous nature of utility wires across the landscape is either an unrecognized or a despised feature. Nonetheless, it is often seen as a necessary evil. But, is it truly such a blemish on the every day landscape? Or, can a curious eye look a underlying qualities that speaks to the idea of "form follows function"? The study of landscape as a cultural construct reveals that its appearance manifests the way society lives and functions. In this sense, its beauty lies in the way it reflects society, and its visual presence in our environment.
