Le Corbusier Harvard Carpenter Center
The Carpenter Center at Harvard University is designed by the famous modernist Le Corbusier. As a sculptural building made almost entirely of concrete, it is appropriate the home of the art department and gallery. The louvre-like window bays contain classrooms, and present dramatic shadows. This is one of the few buildings in the U.S. by this world icon of an architect, who dominated the profession from the 1950's thru the 1970's. Some of his most well-known buildings are located in Europe.
